REGULAR EVENTS:

  • Meditation Group - every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm Abdon Village Hall. Just turn up and give it a try. Free of charge, all welcome. Tea, biscuits and a chat to end the evening.   • UFO (Un Finished Objects) craft morning - every 2nd Saturday each month at Abdon Village Hall 10.30am to 12.30pm. Bring along your unfinished projects. Join us and learn a new craft skill or teach your craft skills to someone else. Please supply your own materials. Please make a donation for refreshments. 
  • Coffee morning - last Saturday each month in Abdon Village Hall 10.30am to 12.30pm (except for December). Join us for coffee, cake and a chat, everyone welcome!
  • Church Services - 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at St. Margaret's Church, Abdon. See the St. Margaret's Church page for details. Please see the latest Corvedale News or Corvedale Parishes Facebook page for updates.

  • Women's Institute - 2nd Monday of the month at 2pm, Clee St.Margaret Village Hall.

  • St Margaret’s Church, Abdon - DONATIONS for LUDLOW FOOD BANK in the church porch. Any non-perishable food, unopened and in date will be very welcome, for example: tinned foods, long-lasting drinks, food cupboard items. Your donations will a make a difference and help someone. Donations will be taken regularly to the Ludlow Food Bank. THANK YOU.

  • 7th September - Scam Reporting. If you have fallen for a scam, report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or via actionfraud.police.ukScam Text messages can be forwarded to 7726 to help phone providers take early action and block numbers that generate spam on their networks. Scam mobile calls can also be forwarded to 7726, followed by the word “CALL”, then the scam phone number. Forward Fake Emails received to [email protected] If you think your bank account or personal banking details have been used fraudulently, then use the short phone number - 159 - to contact the Fraud Prevention Department of most major UK banks.
  • 7th September - Freedom Fibre Update. The contracts awarded by Building Digital UK (BDUK) to Freedom Fibre and Voneus in north and mid-west Shropshire, respectively, have been terminated by mutual agreement of both parties. BDUK are now working to put in place alternative solutions for premises in these areas that require support from Project Gigabit.  Here is a link to the Freedom Fibre announcement on the BDUK website: Project Gigabit network build contract - North Shropshire - GOV.UKThe contract awarded by BDUK to Openreach for around 7,000 premises in East & South Shropshire in December 2024 remains in place and on-the-ground delivery is expected to commence early next year.  In addition to these contracts, Project Gigabit is expected to provide voucher funding to Openreach in up to 12 telephone exchange areas, where work is expected to begin in the autumn: Claverley, Clee Hill, Cressage, Little Brampton, Lydbury North, Morville, Norton, Quatt, Stottesdon, Uppington, Upton Magna, Worfield.  According to Thinkbroadband, the percentage of premises in Shropshire that currently have access to: superfast broadband is 99.6%, gigabit broadband is 76.6% (up from 67.7% in August 2024). Access to good broadband and mobile phone connectivity is essential for the people who live, work and visit Shropshire (digital infrastructure and digital skills).  If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Ben Walker, Senior Programme Officer (Digital Infrastructure) Connecting Shropshire, Economic Growth, 01743 252203, [email protected]

  • Tuesday 7th October - BROWN CLEE PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. Tuesday 7th October 2025, Ditton Priors Village Hall. Door open at 5.30 for a 6.00 pm meeting start. Refreshments available before the meeting. The AGM will be followed by the final Open Meeting of the year.

  • Friday 17th October - Building a Chelsea Garden. A talk by Ade Robinson. 2.30 pm Ditton Priors Village Hall. Tickets are £5 including hot drink and cake. Email [email protected] to buy your ticket in advance - or pay at the door on the day. All proceeds will be in aid of the PPG Garden Project – enhancing spaces for patients and staff.
